The teen & kids classes are a big focus at Aiki Zenshin Dojo. Approximately fifty percent of our members are children. We offer a learning environment that teaches respect while allowing the students to have fun. Careful instruction is given to coordination skills as well as the overall art. Sometimes, we have the kids practice their rolling and falling techniques by playing games. Other nights focus on the proper material needed to test for their next belt. We are very proud of our students at Aiki Zenshin Dojo and encourage you to stop by and visit one night. Just ask Sunny Skys sensei how much the kids like practicing on a giant mat! The teen classes are, of course, more advanced. They are given a curriculum that parallels the adult class, in self defense and exercise, but only work with kids their own age. If a teen feels they want a greater challenge, they are always welcome to join an adult workout. We all know the teen years can be very tricky to negotiate which makes Aikido's focus on non violence and positive energy perfect for kids trying to deal with the stress of everyday life. We like to encourage our students to do well in school as well as extracurricular activities outside the Dojo. A positive image is represented at Aiki Zenshin Dojo and we have seen some of our teens remain friends for many years.
