I got a real great email from Todd Kammerer updating me on the latest happenin's at South Austin Aikido. They are currently in the midst of "aiki week"... an intensive, week long training training schedule. They started their 'intensive' last Saturday, August 12, and will be finishing on Friday, August 18. Barbara Kammerer has been busy taking photos and contributing her side-line support. A month from now, I have the pleasure and honor of full-filling the invitation to instruct my fourth annual weekend seminar in Austin. I'll be arriving on Thursday, 9/14, for the evening training. The seminar will officially begin on Friday and end on Sunday afternoon. Ya'all are invited! Check out the details on South Austin Aikido's website.

Since returning from "camp" at little over a week ago, I've been up to my ears with personal issues which has kept me from getting a posting up. " Camp" was once again an amazing experience. As always, all of the senior teachers were awesome. Each of them stepped on to the mat full of energy and eager to interact with the students. I only experienced one of the smaller, "focus classes" which were taught by "junior instructors". The one I attended was led by Jun Akiyama with a focus on ukemi (attacking & falling skills). He did a really great job of sharing his journey to his present conceptual base and skill. It was wonderful to see old friends and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. I am going to make this short. I really want to get the photos up today and other responsibilities are calling to me. Enjoy the photos ! Posted by Skys Sensei. |

My wife, Judy, is a registered nurse with holistic certification. Being such, she is open to exploring the potential in alterative health modalities and health products. In May, Judy traveled to Buffalo Woman Ranch in Colorado to attend a weekend retreat. One of the co-owners of BWR is Charlotte McGuire, who is also the founder of the American Holistic Nurses Association . Judy greatly admires ‘Charlie’ as a visionary in the holistic health field as well as a woman of deep spiritual connection and commitment. At the weekend retreat, Charlie introduced the participants to a new health product. She had discovered this product while exploring complementary healing possibilities in treating her breast cancer. This product is a little “sachet’ that is placed in your water bottle. It makes the water “wetter” and raises the ph level to 9.9. Each sachet contains calcium, magnesium and over 70 trace minerals (electrolytes). Judy was very taken with the idea and got right into it. Skepticism had me going for a while. Then, about six weeks ago I shifted into the ‘what the heck’ mindset. With my active lifestyle, a water bottle is always close at hand. Well, here I am today sharing the product with you. I even signed up as a distributor and yes, it is a network marketing organization. Take a look and see what you think! I also have a few ‘starter kits’ available at the dojo. The company is called Xooma Worldwide. Please enter the site through my url, www.xoomaworldwide.com/sunnyh2o , and I will get credit for any purchases that you make.
