Welcome to Aiki Zenshin Dojo

Aikido, the modern martial art!

Aikido is an effective, nonviolent system of self-defense. In fact, many police agencies throughout the world include aikido techniques in their arrest tactics training. Yet the founder of aikido, Moreihei Ueshiba Sensei, talked of his creation as the art of peace and reconciliation. He often commented that the primary goal of aikido was to make better human beings.

At Aiki Zenshin Dojo we strive to honor the vision of Ueshiba Sensei. I hope that you will take time to check out our web site and the links that we have included. If you have any questions, feel free to send e-mail or give me a call. Foremost, I cordially invite you to visit our Dojo, observe any of our classes, and get a feeling for our community.

Chip-san likes to give me a little nudging now and again especially in regards to more frequent postings and updating of our web site.  Last night he was telling me that a couple of his buddies checked out our site and commented that his image was no where to be found.  Maybe Chip-san is just feeling a bit neglected lately.  Here's a couple of pics for your buddiesWink!

Jonathan Lewis Seminar_ June 17 & 18.
Saturday, 27 May 2006

We are very proud to be hosting this seminar with Jonathan Lewis sensei.  Besides being my personal web guru, he is also a wonderful aikido instructor.  Jonathan taught here for a number of years and the students that remember him are eagerly awaiting his visit!

For this seminar we are trying out a new format.  The schedule for Saturday and Sunday will be Identical.  Class will start at 10:30 am and end at 2 pm.  A short break or two will be interjected according to the 'whim' Wink of Lewis Sensei.  A group lunch will follow for those wishing to participate.  We are exploring this shorter seminar format to respond to the feedback that I have received from folks who are trying to juggle their aikido training with family time.

More details and a printable flyer are now available.
