Aikido, the modern martial art!

Aikido is an effective, nonviolent system of self-defense. In fact, many police agencies throughout the world include aikido techniques in their arrest tactics training. Yet the founder of aikido, Moreihei Ueshiba Sensei, talked of his creation as the art of peace and reconciliation. He often commented that the primary goal of aikido was to make better human beings.

Two Upcoming Test Events!

Over the summer our young ones have really been focused on their test material. Many have been training 4 - 5 times a week! To accommodate all of our test eligible students we will be holding two Test Events next week. If you have been curious about our programs, our Test Events are wonderful opportunities to see first hand our kids and teens in a formal test situation. Our young ones never cease to amaze me with their presence, poise and skill as they move toward their new ranks. Visitors are always welcome_ simply drop by and pull up a chair!

Upcoming Test Events:

Tuesday, August 19th. Children's belt exams_ 5 - 6:30 pm. Teen rank review and adult kyu exams_ 7 - 9 pm.

Saturday, August 23rd. Children's belt exams_ 9 am - 10:30 am. Teen rank review and adult kyu exams_ 11 am - 12:30 pm.
