Welcome to Aiki Zenshin Dojo

Aikido, the modern martial art!

Aikido is an effective, nonviolent system of self-defense. In fact, many police agencies throughout the world include aikido techniques in their arrest tactics training. Yet the founder of aikido, Moreihei Ueshiba Sensei, talked of his creation as the art of peace and reconciliation. He often commented that the primary goal of aikido was to make better human beings.

At Aiki Zenshin Dojo we strive to honor the vision of Ueshiba Sensei. I hope that you will take time to check out our web site and the links that we have included. If you have any questions, feel free to send e-mail or give me a call. Foremost, I cordially invite you to visit our Dojo, observe any of our classes, and get a feeling for our community.

Thank you South Austin Aikido!

In a few days it's going to be a month since I taught my 6th annual seminar at South Austin Aikido.   When I am on their mat, I feel like I am still at home... we're family!  In the last six years I have seen this community grow into a dojo that absolutely glows with aiki spirit. Within my first few minutes on their mat I sensed that a quantum leap in the overall skill level had come about since my last visit.  I believe that the alchemic ingredient that has contributed most to this accelerated growth is the unpretentious, joyful sincerity of the instructors and students.

The spirit of aikido is live and flourishing at South Austin Aikido.  Even though I am the one hosted as the guest instructor, each year I feel that I return a better aikidoka, teacher and human.  Thank you South Austin Aikido for all the good times, on the mat and off the mat.  Thank you for your generosity and your commitment to the 'aiki way'.

This year I felt very honored that four of our students took the time and incurred the expense to attend the seminar.  They had such a good time that they're already planning to go again next year.  Who were they?  Click here for the rest of the story !
