Welcome to Aiki Zenshin Dojo

Aikido, the modern martial art!

Aikido is an effective, nonviolent system of self-defense. In fact, many police agencies throughout the world include aikido techniques in their arrest tactics training. Yet the founder of aikido, Moreihei Ueshiba Sensei, talked of his creation as the art of peace and reconciliation. He often commented that the primary goal of aikido was to make better human beings.

At Aiki Zenshin Dojo we strive to honor the vision of Ueshiba Sensei. I hope that you will take time to check out our web site and the links that we have included. If you have any questions, feel free to send e-mail or give me a call. Foremost, I cordially invite you to visit our Dojo, observe any of our classes, and get a feeling for our community.

Our dojo now offers YOGA CLASSES!

(I hope that I did not shout too loudly with the caps! Smile)

A warm welcome and hearty congratulations goes to Casey Schrodetzki, founder of Ida Pingala Yoga, on instructing her first class at our dojo this very morning.  In all my haste in getting ready for my Texas vacation and all the fun I had while in Austin, I dropped the ball in letting the community know that we have this wonderful young woman starting this new program at our dojo.  Casey is a proud mother of two sweet kiddies, absolutely loves yoga and feels grateful for all of the blessings that the practice has brought into her life, and approaches every relationship as an opportunity to ‘practice peace’.  I am so delighted that she has joined our dojo family!

Casey is currently teaching at other venues in the area and will be conservatively starting up her practice here.  She is eager to expand her class schedule and I am optimistic that due to her delightful presence, she will have a quite ‘following’ in a very short time!

Ida Pingala Yoga class schedule:

  • Monday_ 11:45 am – 12:15 pm_ lunchtime yoga.
  • Wednesday_ 11:45 am – 12:30 pm_ “yoga play”, a class for mommies and babies!
  • Sunday
  • 1 – 2:15 pm_ yoga basics.
  • 2:30 – 3:30 pm_ “yoga play”, a class for mommies and babies!
  • 3:45 – 5 pm_ yoga for relaxation. (meditation & mind/body awareness).

Whether you have practiced yoga before or you’re just eager to give it a try, I encourage you to participate in one of Casey’s classes.  She truly is a delightful spirit!
