Jane Nason got to the dojo a bit early for our tameshigiri (target cutting)class. She bowed onto the mat at about the halfway point of our teen and adult belt exams. We finished the tests with time for training so I enlisted Jane to teach the last 15 minutes of class while our black belt test board reviewed the candidates efforts. Jane is a gifted aikidoka and one awesome human being. I was so pleased that our students got to experience her kind nature and wonderful teaching style. Jane trains and teaches a weekly class at Aikido West in Redwood City under the direction of Frank Duran Shihan. For a number of years she assisted her husband, Neville, in "leading" a Sunday study group at our dojo which was based upon the work of Yoshinobu Takeda Shihan. This study group has continued on at Aikido West.
We are so blessed to have people like Jane and Neville Nason gifting us with their big hearts, wonderful aikido, and enduring friendship.
