On Saturday, March 19th, Stephanie Zee navigated perhaps the finest nikyu exam (1st level brown belt) that I have ever witnessed. If memory serves me, we had at least ten black belts on the 'examining board' that morning and all of us were awed and delighted!  Stephanie moved through the exam with skill, precision, sophistication and an amazing sense of presence.

Stephanie started her training at our dojo in August of 2001 at the tender age of seven.  She has trained consistently over all of these years and her parents, Bernard and Susan, have been supportive cornerstones of our community.  Her younger sister, Patricia, also trains.  Bernard put together a wonderful video celebrating Stephanie's accomplishment.  Still a teenager she has voiced her embarrassment - yet it's not going to stop me from sharing it with you !
